At Friends of Frank, we are united by a deep-rooted passion for canine wellbeing and an unwavering commitment to evidence-based, force-free care.
By prioritising emotional welfare and mutual trust over traditional control, we offer a modern, compassionate approach.
We believe every dog deserves the freedom to coexist in harmony and the chance to simply be themselves.
Alex
Dog Walker and Behaviourist
Alex founded Friends of Frank in 2021.
Alex's passion has always been helping dogs and their humans build happier, healthier relationships.
Instead of focusing on “control and obedience,” Alex uses science-based, force-free methods that encourage cooperation, trust, and understanding.
For Alex, it’s all about creating a partnership where both dog and human feel heard and supported.
Along the way, Alex has invested in continuous learning and hands-on experience:
• Canine First Aid (renewed annually through 2025)
• Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour Practice (2023)
• Wolf Awareness, Canine Principles – Dog Skills for Humans (2023)
• Level 4 Diploma in Canine Welfare, Behaviour and Training (2022)
• Level 3 Diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare (2021)
-
Clinical experience: General Hospital Assistant; Blue Cross Victoria (2022–2023)
• Behaviour & Wellbeing Assessor for the Dog Meat Trade: Dachshund Support and Rescue Group (2022)
At the heart of it all, Alex believes every dog deserves compassion, patience, and the chance to thrive — and every human deserves the tools to help them get there.

Frank
Meet Alex's co-founder, Frank.
Frank hasn’t always found the world easy; his own journey through reactivity and anxiety is what originally led Alex to study canine behaviour.
Having worked through those challenges together, Frank is a daily reminder of why we do what we do.
Now, when he’s not catching up on his beauty sleep, Frank is right by Alex's side, joining group walks and spreading joy at his own pace. He is a heartfelt testament that with the right support, patience, and understanding, every dog can find their peace in the world.
